Received a pleasant surprise email ..... Thank you, Sister Theresa, for the video.
Hi Sis. Liew's Mom! Sis. Liew and her companion Sis. Vehikite were at our home last night for a visit and treated us to a beautiful song. I took a video clip of it and thought I'd pass it along to you. We are so blessed to have her in our ward! What a wonderful daughter you have! Click here for the video: http://www.vimeo.com/904167/
Of course - share this with whomever you please. I think everyone should get to see their talent! :) Hope you have a great day. Love, Theresa

This blog was inspired by Lian's call to the mission field as a full time missionary, and so the website address renejenny-mission.blogspot.com. Now that she has completed, I will post thoughts, events, activities related to my spiritual life.

A Letter from Lian's Teacher in Provo MTC
Thursday, 27 December 2007
Never did I expect an email from Lian's teacher at the MTC. Tonight I felt honored to receive a letter from him. Lian spoke about her teachers being simply amazing, that they are truly inspired when they teach and that she love them.
Thanks, Brother Ackerman, for allowing me to post your letter to me in this blog.

Sunday, 23 December 2007 - I am Brother Ackerman from the Provo Missionary Training Center. I was able to be the teacher of your daughter, Sister Liew while she was there. I meant to send this email earlier, but I have been extra busy with school and work. I wanted to let you know what a tremendous missionary your daughter was. In fact, it was a special district. I have never contacted the parents of missionaries before, but this district was so good I had to let their parents know.
Sister Liew was a very diligent studier and it showed in her teaching. She always used her study time wisely and so when she taught, she taught clearly and powerfully. The other thing I appreciated most about Sister Liew was that she had a Christ-like ability to mourn with those that mourn and comfort those who stand in need of comfort. She was a blessing to me, to the other members of the district and she will be a blessing and do so much good in California.

Lian has entered the Provo Missionary Training Center. She is in good hands. It was time for Mike & me to go back home.
Took the following pictures on our way back to the car park:

Should be Lian standing here instead of me! We took Lian straight to the entrance of the building Wednesday. I know she will take a picture here during her stay there.

Orientation Programme for Parents and Missionaries
Wednesday, 28 November 2007
Glad we had planned to stay a night in Provo. The briefing for parents, together with the missionaries was at 12 noon. Missionaries from all over US reported this Wednesday morning. Lian reported Tuesday because she was from overseas. There were over 200 missionaries today in the orientation programme today.
Family and friends, with the missionaries, in the reception room.

Sitting together in the briefing room
Mike said Lian & I would cry when we go out separate doors. We didn't. We have been away from each other from time to time since she left home to study in West Malaysia in 1999. This could be the longest time before I could see and talk to her. I know I am going to miss that but I know it is only for a period of time.
