Temple Endowment

Heavenly Father had provided the way for me to receive my temple endowment. Manila temple, the nearest temple, was in Quezon City in the Philippines.

I was first interviewed by my branch (Miri) president Ch.. on the 20 April 2006.  The second and last interview was held in the PJ branch building by the Singapore Mission President La.. on the 4 May 2006.    The PJ branch is 30 mins. drive from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.    The flight from Miri to Kuala Lumpur is about 2 hrs.

Missionary couple Elder and Sister Ot.. taught (starting the 26 June till the 10 July) me 6 lessons to prepare for the temple endowment which was set for the 25 July.

I am thankful for a dear friend (LLH) who came to meet us (my daughter and I) at the Kota Kinabalu airport, and took us for lunch. The AirAsia flight from Miri was only 40 mins, arrived at 8:35 am, Monday 24 July 2006.   The connecting AirAsia flight from Kota Kinabalu only leaves at 13:30 pm.

I am thankful for a friend (JOl.), whom I have never met before this trip, whom I had the blessing to correspond with, who came to meet us at the Clark airport.   The flight from Kota Kinabalu took 2 hrs, arrived at 3:30 pm.    JOl. took us on the cheepneys, then the tricycles and finally the taxi to reach the patron housing facility that is located across the Manila temple.

I am thankful for another friend (KCa.), whom I have never met before this trip, whom I had the blessing to correspond with as well, who booked our accommodation at the patron housing facility, who escorted me to receive my endowment on the morning of 25 July 2006.   Grateful for her and Ra. (a worker at the Patron's house)'s time in taking us to Greenhills shopping center and Megamall shopping Mall the following 2 days.

There is no other peaceful place in the world than being in a temple.   You just want to stay there forever, away from the hustle and bustle of life, away from the worries, anxiety, etc.

I am so grateful that I have been able to act as proxy (baptism, confirmation, initiatory) for my maternal and paternal grandmothers, my 2nd paternal aunty-in-law.   My daughter received endowment for my paternal grandmother, Sister Adora for my 2nd paternal aunty-in-law.   I am grateful that I was able to act as proxy for my paternal grandmother to be sealed to her parents.

I am grateful that I could do proxies for the departed sisters, whom I did not know, in receiving their endowments.   And I am grateful that I could do proxies in the sealing room, as daughters, mothers and wives.

The day of our departure from Manila, 28 July 2006, I got to witness a temple marriage for the 1st time, that morning.   It was 5-1/2 years later, on the 14 January 2012, that I got to witness the 2nd temple marriage in San Diego, California.  It was the temple marriage of my daughter to her husband.

Our AirAsia flight from Clark to Kota Kinabalu arrived at 5:55 pm.   The same dear friend (LLH) came to meet us, took us to dinner and had us stayed with her and her family for the night, took us to the airport for our return flight to Miri the next morning.

Heavenly Father had blessed me with people to help all the way, especially my daughter who had taken her time to be with me all the way from Miri and back, and also escorted me when I received my endowment.
